ဂတိခ်ိဳခ်ိဳ ဂတိခါးခါး

တစ္ခါတုန္းက အနိ၀တၱျဗဟၼဒတ္မင္းဆုိတာ ရွိခဲ့ဖူးပါတယ္။ အနိ၀တၱဆုိတာ ျမန္မာလုိ ျပန္ရင္ေတာ့ ေနာက္မဆုတ္တဲ့မင္းလုိ႔ အဓိပၸာယ္ရပါ တယ္။ အဲဒီမင္းက ဘာကုိပဲလုပ္လုပ္ ေနာက္ဆုတ္ေလ့ မရွိပါဘူးတဲ့။
တစ္ေန႔ေတာ့ အနိ၀တၱမင္းက ဥယ်ာဥ္ေတာ္ကုိ ထြက္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ အဲဒီအခ်ိန္မွာ ေတာမီး ထေလာင္ပါတယ္။ မီးက အစုိအေျခာက္ မေရြး သစ္ပင္ျမက္ပင္ေတြကုိ အကုန္ေလာင္ေတာ့တာပါ။ ေနာက္မဆုတ္ဘဲ ေရွ႔ကုိ တုိးတုိးျပီးေတာ့ ေလာင္သြား တာပါ။ အနိ၀တၱမင္းက ေလာင္ေနတဲ့ မီးကုိ ဥပမာျပဳျပီး အာရုံနိမိတ္ ယူပါတယ္။

The king and the Gooseherd

Long ago, in a land across the sea, there lived a good king, who loved books more than anything else in the world.

One morning he was out walking in the country, where he had gone on holiday for a few days. As the sun was very hot, he stopped and sat down to rest on a seat under a tress. He took a book out of his pocket and tried to read it but, as he was very tired, he soon fell asleep.
